My story is deeply rooted in my beginnings on a vibrant family farm. I was raised alongside seven siblings in a household where hard work and shared responsibilities were simply a way of life. Our farm was lively and bustling, with fields of tobacco, wheat, corn, and a variety of vegetables. The land surrounding our home was dotted with fruit trees, nut trees, and grapevines—many planted by my father and grandfather. Growing up in this environment taught me the importance of community, resilience, and gratitude. These qualities have shaped who I am today.
Life on the farm wasn’t just about tending to the crops. My siblings and I cared for the animals and participated in all the daily routines of running a farm. While it was a lot of work, it was also full of love, laughter, and a deep connection to nature. Those early experiences provided me with lessons I still carry with me and memories I hold close to my heart. They instilled in me a profound appreciation for my roots and the values that define me—values I hope to share with my readers.
